Recipe for Meaty Chinese Cabbage Rolls
A tasty filling wrapped with cabbage leaves and served with a delicious sauce, Chinese steamed cabbage rolls are pretty, low-carb, and simple to make.
Before making this dish, you need to choose the right type of cabbage for the rolls. I use savoy cabbage. Their leaves are loosely layered making them easy to peel off without tearing. It also has a pretty curly look. Sometimes I use the leafy part of a Napa cabbage (aka Chinese cabbage) instead. It has a tender texture and a lovely hint of sweetness.

Meaty Chinese Cabbage Rolls with Sauce

Recipe Ingredients:
- Cabbage Rolls
- Shiitake Mushrooms
- Cornstarch
- Mushroom Water
Recipe Instructions: 1. Briefly cook cabbage leaves & carrot strips in boiling water until wilted. 2. Mix the filling which contains minced meat (pork, beef or chicken), shiitake mushrooms & seasonings. 3. Wrap the filling with cabbage leaves then tie with carrot strips. 4. Steam for 10 mins. 5. Make the sauce with mushroom water, oyster sauce & cornstarch. Pour it over the rolls. 6. Enjoy!
