Pakistani cuisine is rich with culture and history. From food trucks to 5-star restaurants, I find its recipes unique and it comes from centuries of Islamic traditions mixed with various flavors brought by invaders like the Mongol empire, Persians, Turks, and more! Although, some of us haven’t heard or tasted anything from Pakistan, the combination of aromas and spices makes Pakistani cuisine genuinely unique from the rest of the world, which is something we should be excited to learn today!
Famous Pakistani Dishes to Try!

1. Dah Puri
First on my list is Pakistani dish Dahi Puri. This dish comes with an array of sweet, sour, tangy and spicy flavors! This popular chaat snack is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Furthermore, Dah Puri is filled with boiled potato cubes, spicy red chili chutney, sweet tamarind chutney and green cilantro chutney. Also, be sure to make this snack when you are craving for some Indian-inspired street food.

2. Aloo Palak
Next, this is a simple Pakistani dish made with potatoes, spinach, spices and herbs. It is a super easy and delicious way to get a little extra iron in your diet. Moreover, this aloo palak is the Indian version of the sautéed spinach with potatoes & a few spices.

3. Pakistani Biryani
Biryani is one of the most famous Pakistani dishes ever. Furthermore, biryani is often associated with heady aromas, vibrant colors, fluffy rice and addictive curry flavors. Moreover, it is made with Indian spices, rice, and usually some type of meat or in some cases without any meat, and sometimes, in addition, eggs and potatoes.
This one looks like your regular patty for a cheeseburger!

4. Chapli kebab is a form of kebabs widely popular in Pakistan. However, I recommend mixing it together with a South Asian blend of spices, then the beef flattened into circles and shallow-fried. Thus, making the patty have a charred exterior for an authentic look and flavor! Serve in a bun with pickled red onions or with a side of pita bread.

5. Karahi
Chicken Karahi, or Kadai chicken is undoubtedly one of the most popular curries in and out of Pakistan. It is on every takeout menu, and with good reason! It is a delicious curry, full of flavor and with a nice spicy kick.

6. Garlic Naan
I guarantee you, fluffy naan bread, made at home, is out of this world! This dish consists of all-purpose flour, and then, brushed with melted garlic butter. Nothing beats it for mopping up the sauce from a tasty curry.

7. Lahori Fried Frish
Lahori Fried fish is a easy and flavorful, crunchy fried fish with lot of spices with sour taste that makes it a great appetizers. The fish fingers can be served alongside any kind of Pakistani chutney or even tartar sauce. But, I highly recommend pairing it with Green Tamarind Chutney!
